SIMOC 2016
780 students from 15 countries and territories took part in Singapore International Math Olympiad Challenge (SIMOC) 2016. Students competed, improved and learned many problem-solving skills while sealing many international friendships.
SIMOC 2016 Prize Giving Ceremony was held on August 14, 2016. The event hosted 1200 people and enjoyed the presence of the Guest of Honour Minister of State at the Ministry of Communications and Information, Chee Hong Tat. Renowned mathematics professors Dr Joseph Yeo, Dr Wong Khoon Yoong from National Institute of Education as well as guests from Vietnam, Dr Tran Nam Dung and Dr Nam attended the ceremony. The brightest mathematicians won medals in Math Olympiad Contest. Teams with the fastest mental math skills won medals in Maths Warriors Challenge. The teams with the best logical, deductive, analytical and creative minds to solve the most puzzles were winners of Mind Sports Challenge. The best students from each level, Grades 2 to 10, emerged as the overall Champions of SIMOC based on the combined scores from the 3 contests.
